how much is it to send coins to PCGS?
Hello i have been looking into pcgs and would like to know how do you submit and how can i find the value of these Mexico coins : 1 peso 1949 Morelos,, 1 peso 1918,, 1 peso 1910 liberty on horseback,, and 2 peso 1921 winged victory. well thanks for the info i have more coins but these are the most valuable of the set.
Go directly to the PCGS website:
http://www.pcgs.com/
You must join their collector's club for a yearly fee to submit coins yourself. You can choose from a 52-page list of authorized dealers who will submit coins for you. Costs will vary, but it's generally around $30 per coin.
Values of your coins vary greatly by condition, with mint state coins being very valuable, especially for the 1949, which can be well over $1000 in a mint state.
No graded coins have sold recently on eBay, only ungraded, and those, you can never trust the grading. You can go to Heritage Auction galleries:
http://www.ha.com/
Sign up for free and you can search their huge archives of past auction results. I did, the list of what showed matching your coins is too long to list here, but I think you'll be convinced that having your coins graded will be worth it.
You can decide for yourself if the price difference between PCGS-graded and those graded by NGC is worth the difference in cost. You can get NGC to do it a little cheaper.
I've bought other things from Heritage, not coins, and found them to be very reliable. If you wanted to sell, you may be able to consign your coins to them and get them graded for a reduced rate.
