Each and every aspen bowl is different from the next. The very nature of spalted wood insures that the color and individual patterns are always going to be distinctive. Even if I tried to make the same shape or size, which I don’t, the colors and designs would be wildly different. During the process of turning, I stop the lathe frequently to see where the most color is and let that determine the final shape and size of the piece. My goal is to make a beautiful piece of art that will be equally at home being a useful vessel for holding fruit, nuts, fresh salad, your favorite jewelry or proudly displayed with your other fine works of art.
