bronze water fountain ideas?
I need some ideas on what to put inside the bricks where the fountain is. It is bare with little grass. Also the outside bricks should i paint a different color? http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/40016/2197644750036953017S425x425Q85.jpg
FORGET TO MENTION I HAVE A DOG AND MESSES AROUND THE PLANTS.
I bought exactly these concrete dividers from Lowes to circle my lion fountain in precisely the manner you did yours. (Great minds think in the same direction). I chose to paint and seal them using Patio Paints, they break and start disintegrating very easily. If you have a big dog or just ones that are curious like mine, they can knock them over and they will break ( some of mine did). So hubby dug a trench and concreted them in so they cannot fall over. I used black patio paint as a base and used eucalyptus green wiped over it with a damp rag to give a patina color (which would go with your fountain, too) They also have a bronze which you could do over the black to give an aged bronze appearance. I chose to use river rock pebbles inside the delineated area around the fountain with weed barrier underneath and used small urns with plants in them so the doggies couldn't get to them. The weed barrier does a great job keeping the weeds down but an occasional one that pops through gets shot to death with vinegar spray and dies. I used succulents in my urns (dogs don't like them and they need little water) surrounding dwarf peter pan plants (they give me a bloom this time of year). I also found sealing the edgers with the patio paints sealer was a good idea if they get hit with the automatic sprinklers every day. These edgers come from China and they use a higher sand content than we do so water adversely affects them over time.
