Christians - do the parallels between Jesus and the egyptian god Horus bother you at all?

There seem to be a weeee too many parallels for it to be coincidence? Or do you close your eyes to such knowledge? Can any of you accept that Jesus perhaps never existed, but is a story passed down from even longer ago, and adopted into works of fiction by men?
And if the answer to any of those questions are no, how DO you deal with it, and still worship Christ and the christian god?

Oh boy. I think some of my fellow Christians ought to research Horus fully before saying that he has anything in common with Jesus. In truth, the two of them only have three things in common:
1. A miraculous birth. (Though Jesus was actually born of a virgin, according to the Bible, and Horus was the son of a god [Osiris] and goddess [Isis]. Isis was not a virgin, and the only thing "miraculous" about Horus' birth is that Osiris was dead when he fathered Horus.)
2. Royal lineage, though Horus' is more direct.
3. Ability to perform miracles (though Horus was never able to walk on water, cast out demons, or raise the dead).
The problem with using religioustolerance.org as a source is that their sources are wholly undependable. They use Acharya S., who is not an Egyptologist, who used Gerald Massey, who is also not an Egyptologist. Egyptologists do not see parallels between Horus and Jesus, other than the three I mentioned. Religioustolerance even admits that Egyptologists do not agree with their findings. Please read to the bottom of the page. Christian theologian Ward Gasque surveyed twenty contemporary Egyptologists on Horus' so-called "virgin birth"; the ten who responded were unanimous in stating that Horus was NOT born of a virgin. I have also contacted Egyptologists on this subject, and all of them have said that the "parallels" simply do not exist.
So no, I'm not bothered by parallels that don't exist.
we have an oval platter type piece that is 38″ x 49″ with egyptian pharohs and goddesses carved on it. We think it may be made of copper and it weighs approximately 15lbs plus. We cannot find any info on it and would like to find someone that could help us with the origin and also the value of the piece. If you need more info please contact us. Thank you.
